This captivating production recounts the origins of what we now know as Memorial Day, tracing back to its roots in 1865 when African Americans first commemorated the holiday. Honoring the newly liberated enslaved individuals and those Black individuals who perished in the Civil War, this powerful narrative unfolds onstage. Join Aunt Pearlie Sue and the Gullah Kinfolk in the theater for an inspiring tale that left an indelible mark on American history.
