Walking Historical Tour Meeting

at Tabernacle Baptist Church

Join us for a walking tour through Beaufort’s rich Gullah history. The tour begins at the historic Tabernacle Baptist Church, home to the resting place of General Robert Smalls. Visit his garden marker and see the newly unveiled monument honoring Harriet Tubman and the Combahee River Raid. Next, explore the Reconstruction Era at the National Parks Museum, guided by Chris Barr, a National Park Service Ranger. This 35-40 minute, less-than-one-mile tour covers key moments in Gullah history.
